Singer -  Songwriter - piano - guitar - accordion

Welcome!  Je vous souhaite la bienvenue!

Hey Folks! I've switched focus from French music these days to singing and playing accordion with my newly formed band The Diablo Rhythm Wranglers.  I don’t really like to say my band since what we are is five seasoned musicians who decided to join forces--bringing together our talents to perform western swing, vintage country, bluegrass and maybe a jazz standard here and there.  What sets us apart is that there is no one dominant personality to the band—four of the five of us sing lead, three of us are songwriters and the guys often switch between guitar and bass as the need arises. Individual band members hail from previous music experience that includes mariachi, western swing, classical guitar, bluegrass, country, jazz, rock, R&B, singer/songwriter, ska, punk and of course French music.  Check out the Diablo Rhythm Wranglers page on this site. You can also find us on facebook.

There is so much to say about Debbie Kuhl’s CD, “Original.” It starts with the happy energy of the cover art, and continues, with a witty surprise, on the CD itself, but the magic happens when you hit the play button. With her angelic and evocative voice, Debbie Kuhl eases her way into your heart. She takes you on a journey of innocence, survival, triumph, and love. These 20 songs, with their memorable hooks, musical references, and honest lyrics, explore the highs and lows of a beautiful human heart. The lean production adds to the intimacy, as if Debbie is singing just to the listener. Stand out songs include: “Like Delilah,” “Where the Mockingbird Sings,” “My Boy Home,” and “Ruth.” But, “Last Call” may be a perfect song. From the first traveling keyboard strokes of “Doesn’t the World Turn Differently” to the last breathy lyric of “Wine to Water,” this collection of “Original” songs will hold you close. And really, isn’t that what you want from a CD?   Mark Negrete, El Paso, Tx
